The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has had a significant impact on residents, communities and the economy. Local councils are having to adapt the way they work, communicate and engage with their communities. Councils will play an essential role in the local leadership needed through the recovery phases of the pandemic.
Over the next 18 months, the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) have been working hard to create a new online event series which will bring together national influencers, policymakers and decision-makers, as well as people from across the local council sector to share their resources, ideas and inspiration on how they can build back stronger and more resilient communities. The online events will run in two different formats, ‘Leaders talk’ and ‘In conversation’:
- ‘Leaders talk’ events feature leading organisations and policymakers who will provide insight into how the national strategy is developing. They will consider the significant issues facing communities and provide a new perspective on them.
- ‘In conversation’ events give councillors and clerks from across the country an opportunity to connect, share best practice and learn from one another from the comfort of their home or workplace.
We are proud to announce we will be sponsoring the first event in the schedule. This will be ‘In conversation: Building back stronger communities’ and it will take place on the 28 July between 12.00 – 13.00.
The aim for this event is for councils to leave with a renewed passion for how they can make a difference, having met and heard from people across the country to get a wide and varied insight from across the sector.
