Last week we travelled over to the Liberty Stadium in Swansea to attend and exhibit at the SLCC & One Voice Wales Joint Conference.
The day was packed with networking opportunities, Q&A workshops, informative presentations and a session from keynote speaker Hannah Blythyn AM, the Deputy Wales Minister for Housing and Local Government.
Our Risk Manager, Brian Brookes, attended the conference.
Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s a long way to Tipperary goes the song but it is also a long way to Swansea. So it was with a degree of excitement that I set off on a warm spring day to the Liberty Stadium last Tuesday to attend the joint One Voice Wales/SLCC Conference. By the way, ‘One Voice Wales’ has nothing to do with a choir competition but the name of the Local Council Association for Wales.
I have never met such a warm and friendly bunch of people with welcoming comments and intelligent questions. They did not get upset by my attempts to pronounce their Local Councils with such names as Penrhyndeudraeth, Llanbradach and Pwllypant.
It was a great event, thank you to our hosts for their warm hospitality and we look forward to working with your members!”
